Lorton is a place located in Fairfax County, Virginia and has a current population of 20,691. From the beginning of the 20th century up until November 2001, Lorton was the site of a District of Columbia correctional facility called the Lorton Reformatory. It was a very historical place and it even held around 168 women from the Women’s Suffrage Movement from June to December 2017. The prison was closed in the late 1990s and was changed to Laurel Hill Park soon after that.
